Living the GOOD LIFE for the REST OF YOUR LIFE!

CROATIAN
HEALTHCARE

Croatians are blessed with an abundant amount of seafood, fresh vegetables and fruit.  Because most of their fruit and vegetables are home-grown, it’s an organic way of living and eating throughout the country, making theirs a healthy lifestyle.

If you are employed in Croatia and are paying into their Social Security system, you will benefit from the state health care system.

If you are new to Croatia and cannot take advantage of the state health system, then private insurance is your best outlet.

Health care facilities are throughout the country, with a full service hospital in Zagreb.  Care is rated quite good.  Curiously, the island of Sveti Duh has seven clinics and 13 medical centers!

As Croatia prepares to enter the EU, they have established reciprocal medical arrangements with many countries.  For all visiting foreigners, basic EMERGENCY medical treatment is normally free upon presentation of your passport.  Non-emergency care and medications are not covered under any health plan from outside the country.
