Television
The four television channels prominent in Croatia are state-owned.  In addition, several local television stations broadcast throughout the country. 

British television programming is popular, as are American shows.  The advantage to an English speaking person is that these broadcasts are in English, with Croatian subtitles.  CNN, BBC and other satellite services are also available.

Internet & Wi-Fi
Internet access is widely available in Croatia as is broadband service. Usage is not costly.  Wi-fi is generally provided by some hotels and internet cafes, as well as in some public areas.
 
Postal Service
Hrvatska Posta is the country-wide postal service, and can be found throughout Croatia, including small villages.  It is efficient.

Telephone
It is wise to purchase a telephone card from a local vendor for easy use - these come in various denominations.

Mobile Phones
Cell (mobile) phones are extremely popular in Croatia and most everyone carries one and uses it wherever they are.  The three mobile phone networks in Croatia are T-Mobile, VIP and Tele2.
 
If you bring your phone from your native country, it will automatically connect to one of these three.  However, roaming charges may be attached to your bill by your local cell phone provider. 

Investigate purchasing a local SIM card for your telephone for use in Croatia, or purchase a pre-paid telephone while there.
