PANAMA'S BEACH
COMMUNITIES!

NORTHERN COAST, ON THE ATLANTIC:
Panama’s northwestern coast on the Atlantic Ocean/Caribbean Sea boasts one of the most magnificent archipelagos in Central America. Known in general as Bocas del Toro, the area is actually comprised of a group of islands, with the capital of the province, Colon, on Isla Colon, the main island.
Scuba diving and snorkeling on the coral reefs yields sightings of magnificently colored fish. On land, Red Frog Beach is known for its playful -- red frogs!
The Isla Coiba National Park is where the jungle abuts the sea, providing a nature-lover's paradise for exploring. Clear water, soft-sand beaches, year-round surfing and a lively tourist industry attracts those who want to escape to a beach-y atmosphere for their Change of Lifestyle.

Since Bocas del Toro is a tourist destination and weekly rentals are popular, finding long-term rentals are best achieved in person.
THE SOUTHERN COAST, ON THE PACIFIC:
The southern, or Pacific Coast of Panama is also drawing its share of new residents who are ready for the beach lifestyle but in a less crowded atmosphere. Since the southern shore of Panama is closer to the highway that crosses Panama (the Pan-American Highway - another is under construction in the North) many expats have chosen this coast for their “Boomer” retirement, while the youngsters head for the northern beaches!
Within an hour’s drive from Panama City is the area known as the Coronado/Gorgona/
Chame beach area. It’s the most popular and developed of the Panamanian beach communities and a hospital has taken note of the increased population and is currently under construction.
Further west, the beach communities diminish and much of the oceanfront is unsettled. But not for long. Many developers are trying to gain permission to build, and look for this area to explode as well.
When looking for a rental property, contact a local realtor or a resident for the best prices.
