Living the GOOD LIFE for the REST OF YOUR LIFE!

MONTHLY BUDGET
FOR THAILAND

Everything we have read has shown that living in Thailand is far more economical than almost anywhere else.  The weather cooperates by streaming sunshine down from the skies.  Of course the occasional tsunami is a force to be reckoned with, but so are earthquakes and hurricanes.  Every area has its quirk of nature to shake us out of our doldrums and make us pay attention.

A non-Thai cannot purchase property, meaning land.  You can own a condominium or an apartment, but not the land upon which it is constructed.  Your best option is to rent, and we have included the cost of rental in the monthly budget.

  Rent

  $500 US

  Transportation (without car) (own car:
  insurance, gas, registration, maintenance)

 $100 US
 $200 US

  Utilities

 $50 US

  Technology (cell phone, internet, cable)

 $100 US

  Household Help

 $50 US

  Food

 $100 US

  Entertainment

 $200 US

  Household Insurance

 $40 US

$1140 US  if you rent and do not own your own car
$1240 US  if you rent and own your own car

Add up to $100 US per month if you own a condominium and pay HOA,  but subtract the cost of rent from this monthly budget.

If you own a condominium, your monthly costs can be as low as $740 per month for two.
